My story began in a village near Iași, among people overwhelmed by the hardships of life, who often soothed their unhappiness with alcohol. My childhood was marked by this atmosphere of negativity, but also by moments of light that shaped my destiny. One of my most vivid memories from that time is the image of my grandparents asking me to read to them from the Bible, moments when they were all eyes and ears.
